CBSE Affiliation – FAQs

Q1. What are the entry-level approvals required for CBSE affiliation?

The school must have a Recognition Letter from the State Government (up to Primary/Middle level) and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the State Government.

Q2. Can a school get CBSE affiliation before starting the school?

No. CBSE affiliation can be applied for only after the school has started functioning.

Q3 Is a consultant required to apply for CBSE affiliation?

No. Schools can apply directly through the CBSE SARAS Portal (https://saras.cbse.gov.in). CBSE does not encourage applications through third-party consultants.

Q4. How is the CBSE school inspection conducted?

Generally, two members form the Inspection Committee. In some cases, a Central Observer may also accompany them. Inspection may be conducted physically or virtually as prescribed by CBSE
